Trial of the Crusader

Lord Jaraxxus

Abilities:

Nether Power - Increases the magic damage Jaraxxus does by 20%/stack. Jaraxxus will buff himself with this for 10 (5) stacks. (This should be removed through purges and dispels as well as spellstolen by mages to increase their own dps)

Fel Fireball - Deals ~25,000 (~15,500) Fire damage and applies a DoT that deals an additional ~9,500 (~6,000) Fire damage/sec for 5secs. (Mostly used on the tank, this should be interrupted as much as possible and the DoT should be removed immediately)

Fel Lightning - This is basically Chain Lightning that does Fire damage instead of Nature. Does ~10,500 (~8,500) Fire damage to a random person and jumps to up to 5 (3) nearby players within 10yds. (The standard 'stay 10yds apart for lightning' applies)

Touch of Jaraxxus - Deals ~4,000 Shadow damage/sec for 12secs to a random target. This person can also spread Curse of the Nether to nearby players. (As usual, stay spread out)

Curse of the Nether - Deals ~4,500 Shadow damage/sec for 15secs. (Should be removed asap)

Legion Flame - Deals ~3,000 Fire damage/sec for 6secs. While the person has this debuff, they will also spawn Legion Flames on the ground underneath them which also do ~3,000 damage/sec and last for 60secs. (If you get this debuff you must keep moving away from the raid for 6secs, one step at a time, until the debuff wears. Everyone should avoid standing in the flames on the ground)

Incinerate Flesh - This debuff will absorb the next 60,000hp (30,000hp) healed and reduces damage done by 50%. Lasts 12secs or until it is healed through. (This needs to be healed through or after 12secs it will cause Burning Inferno to go off instead)

Burning Inferno - Deals ~4,000 (~2,500) Fire damage/sec for 5secs to the entire raid. (Only happens if Incinerate Flesh is not removed)

Nether Portal - Summons a Nether Portal that spawns a Mistress of Pain. The portal deals ~9,500 (7,000) Shadow damage to anyone within 10yds of the portal. (OT should prepare to pick up the add when this opens)

Infernal Eruption - Summons an Infernal Volcano which spawns 3-4 Felflame Infernals over 15secs. (The OTs should prepare to start picking these adds up as soon as they see the green volcano)

Soft Enrage: None
Hard Enrage: Unknown at the moment

Adds:

Mistress of Pain - Summoned from Nether Portals, they look just like a Warlock's Succubbus and deal high melee damage.
Shivan Slash - A whirling melee attack that deals 50% weapon damage and ignores armor.
Spinning Pain Spike - Used on a random target, the Mistress will launch towards someone and spike them, dealing 50% of their max hp in damage and then return to her highest threat target. (The tank and melee should not chase after her and wait for her to return to the OT)

Fel Flame Infernal - These are spawned from Infernal Volcanos and are almost identical to the Infernals that were in the Prince fight in Karazhan.
Fel Inferno - Will channel this ability for 2,500 Fire damage/sec for 6secs, hitting anyone within 15yds.
Fel Streak - Morphs into a green orb and charges towards a random target, dealing ~6,400 (~4,400) Fire damage to anyone along its path.

Strategy:

This fight has a lot of mechanics going on constantly, but overall is not a difficult encounter once you see everything in action. Lord Jaraxxus has a lot of hp and can dish out a lot of damage, but there are numerous ways to avoid taking extra damage as well as lowering the amount he can do as well.

jaraxxus1

The MT should begin the fight with Jaraxxus tanked right in the middle of the room. The melee can stack up behind the boss since Fel Lightning favors ranged, but be sure to watch for Legion Flames as these can stack up in melee range if people don't keep an eye on them. The rest of the raid should spread out around the room, keeping a 10yd distance from one another to avoid spreading both Fel Lightning and Curse of the Nether.

The melee should stay on top of interrupting Fel Fireball since these can hit the tank for quite a bit of damage, and interrupting these will help lessen the burden on the healers. Nether Power has quite a few stacks which will greatly increase Jaraxxus' damage and this needs to be dealt with by a number of ways. Any Mages in the raid should keep up on spellstealing this as it will lower his damage while increasing theirs. Shamans and Priests need to keep dispelling and purging the stacks as well though. If you get the Legion Flames debuff, it is important not to go running with it. Every second it will drop another fire underneath of you, so you should take small steps backwards towards the wall each second. This will keep the fire in a controlled line leading away from the raid instead of dropping small patches all over the area.

Another important aspect to this encounter is the Incinerate Flesh debuff. This can be applied to anyone in the raid at random and while active it will absorb healing and reduce their damage by 50% for 12secs. Before the 12secs are over however, healers need to heal through the debuff and break it that way. If it is not healed through in 12secs, that person will explode with a damaging attack called Burning Inferno which will do much more damage to the entire raid (roughly 20,000 damage to the entire raid over 5secs).

jaraxxus2

Every 60secs Jaraxxus will summon adds, either through a Nether Portal or an Infernal Eruption. The Nether Portal is a thin gateway that will bring forth a Mistress of Pain. Once spawned an offtank should pick her up and hold her right next to the boss. These adds have quite a bit of health and hit relatively hard on the OT. All dps should break off of Jaraxxus and burn down the Mistress of Pain, leaving 1-2 melee behind to keep interrupts up on Fel Fireball. Occasionally she will use her Pain Spike attack on a random person for 50% of their max health. When this occurs she will jump up and spike down on a random person in the raid - do not chase after her, she will return to the OT in a few moments. Continue to burn down and get back to the boss.

The second type of adds are the Fel Flame Infernals which are summoned through an Infernal Eruption. The Fel Volcano looks like a small green volcano and over the course of 15secs 3-4 of these adds will emerge. They need to be offtanked away from the boss and quickly burned down by the ranged dps. Once in awhile they will morph into a small orb and float over to a random raid member. When they reform they will begin channeling their Fel Inferno attack - do not stand next to them while they do this. The tanks will need to keep picking them back up as aggro can be fairly loose with the random taking off they do. Burn them down and return to the boss.
