Paladins Cooldowns

Posted by Hachiman • Monday, April 11th, 2011

Paladins are the beefiest class in terms of defensive cooldowns. They have an extremely wide variety of uses and fill almost every niche. Prot and holy cooldowns should still be used with an eye toward proper placement in a raid-wide cycle of cooldowns.

Priest Cooldowns

Posted by Hachiman • Monday, April 11th, 2011

Priests, for the most part, don’t have defensive cooldowns that are meant for use on themselves, but rather to save others. Given this, priest cooldowns should usually be coordinated with other raid-wide or tank cooldowns.

Hyjal Dead Elementals

Yeah…3 weeks since the last blog. Hachi Fan Club members pull out your 100-sided dice and roll for blame, it wasn’t my fault! I swear I’ve been busy. Do you SEE how many elementals are dead up there? Ok, fine, I may not have killed any of them but I found them. That counts for something, right? Anyways, I really do apologize for having taken such a long hiatus on it, but we should be back to regular updates by Sunday. Here’s what I’ve been up to, told in screenshot form.

Screen Tearing Goodness

As many of you may have heard, Japan was hit with a 8.9 earthquake this week, the 5th largest in recorded history. Fortunately, my mom and family live in Yokohama, hundreds of miles south of the epicenter. Unfortunately, the news coming from Japan is increasingly grim. Parts of the Tokyo metropolitan area (of which Yokohama is a major city) are beginning to experience food shortages and residents are advised not to drink tap water due to potential radiological contamination from the damaged reactors in Fukushima, only two hundred miles north of my family.

The Hachiman Fan Club Weekly Memo

Posted by Hachiman • Sunday, March 6th, 2011

Land Shark

Hello, and welcome to the first weekly memo of the Hachiman Fan Club. To start things off, I’d like to get everyone up to speed. The Hachiman Fan Club is currently a level 42 guild with over 9000 members and 69 bank tabs (much appreciated if you guys stopped filling them with chilled meat). Heroic Lubu’s Pantry is now on farm status, DR won the roll on [Empty Twix Wrapper] and vows to never unequip them. Unfortunately, the Unmarked Van mount did not drop. Next week, we will be tackling Hachi’s Ego. Be prepared to wipe 30 times in succession with no meaningful progress and additional strain on your relationship with your significant other.

Cataclysm Patch 4.0.3a

Posted by News • Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

WoW Notes

The Shattering of Azeroth
In the frigid wastes of Northrend, the final battle against the merciless Lich King ended in victory for Azeroth’s defenders. Upon returning home, veterans of the unforgiving conflict against the Scourge were showered with praise for their valiant sacrifices, while the honorable dead were mourned. Yet as hope flared anew in the wake of the Lich King’s fall, Azeroth’s native elemental spirits grew confused and erratic, setting off a series of deadly natural disasters. Horde and Alliance leaders scrambled for clues about the troubling state of the world, but nothing could have prepared them for what was to come.

Cataclysm Patch 4.0.3

Posted by News • Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

WoW Notes

General

* Much of the data being downloaded in patch 4.0.3 will pave the way for the shattering of Azeroth shortly before the release of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm on December 7.
* The leader of Wintergrasp raids can no longer kick players from the raid (this change will also apply to Tol Barad in Cataclysm).
* When in a Looking For Dungeon group, using an instance portal to that instance will now take players to the Looking For Dungeon entrance point instead of the normal destination of that portal. This will make it easier to return to the instance after dying in an LFD group.
* Honorable Kills are no longer awarded for killing players below level 5.

Cataclysm Collector's Edition

Still no release date, but Gamestop is now taking preorders for the World of Warcraft Cataclysm Collector’s Edition. Looks pretty good, about the same as the past Collector’s Editions were.
